Active Range of Motion (AROM)
Motion that is created by one’s own force. The client moves, to the best of their ability, within their own limits.

Active Assistive Range of Motion (AAROM)
Motion is created by oneself while another portion of the motion is created by outside force. This can also happen when some amount of external force is created throughout the entire movement. The external force can be applied from another person like the therapist or a piece of equipment.
