These objects have an elongated handle that help clients with difficulty reaching. A long-handled sponge is an example of a long-handled device that is useful for someone that has difficulty reaching their legs, feet, and back. An example of when this would be useful would be for someone on hip precautions after a surgery and cannot bend at the hips in order to wash their lower body. Additionally, someone with limited shoulder range of motion (ROM) could use this in order to wash their back. To add to this, there are also long-handled hairbrushes, shoe horns, and several other devices.
